The Department of Livestock Production, Ministry of Agriculture & Rural Development (MARD) will host the Vietstock Awards 2024 to honour businesses and organisations that have significantly contributed to the development of Vietnam’s livestock industry.
For biosecurity, it is well recognised that ‘prevention is better than cure’. However, we tend to approach in a reactive manner, which means that a disease outbreak occurs, and then we take action and make changes. However, a proactive approach, involving applying biosecurity measures to prevent, control, and eliminate pathogens, is far more effective in protecting the herds. The best defense is to be proactive, before it is too late, as internationally recognised thought-leader John Maxwell famously noted: “If you are proactive, you focus on preparing. If you are reactive, you end up focusing on repairing.”
